Met another friend at the mural! Sue Kroll

Here I am with Sue Kroll. A fellow artist on the mural, Le Cadeau de Cheval. She sent me this photo, as I was so excited to meet my friends, I forgot to have a photo taken of us together. :)

The internet is so wonderful, you meet friends from all over the country when you have similar interests.

Meeting a long time email buddy!

Here I am with Carol Hendrix! After 10 years of emailing each other back and forth about art, life, and fun, we finally meet! It’s so much fun to meet someone who’s been a friend for so long, when you’ve never seen each other in person…

We spent some time together in Cowboy Christmas, and the next day, headed to the flea markets. What a great time we had.

Visiting the mural in Vegas! Le Cadeau de Cheval

Here I am, visiting the mural at the Cowboy Christmas show in the North part of the Thomas and Mack Center. You can visit the mural’s webpage all you want, but it’s nothing like seeing the mural in person.

It was wonderful to meet Paul, (on your left), and Phil, (on your right). They work so hard but have fun doing it.

I’m hoping the mural can come to the Charlie Russell art show here in Great Falls, in March. It never hurts to dream, eh?

Le Cadeau du Cheval, The Horse Gift, Las Vegas!

The Horse Gift will be coming to the Cowboy Christmas show at the National Finals Rodeo in December. It will be displayed from December 4th to December 13th, 2008. I can’t wait to see the mural in person!

AND………On December 6th and 7th, William Shatner is scheduled to be at the display signing prints of the mural! His likeness is on one of the panels of the mural. It will be so great to meet him, have pics taken with him under the mural, and have him sign my personal copy!!!!!

If you are in Las Vegas during this time, be sure to stop by and see just how big the mural is!

Le Cheval Du Cadeau in Las Vegas

After stops at Spruce Meadows for the Masters (Calgary, Alberta, Canada) and in Columbus, Ohio for Quarter Horse Congress, Le Cheval Du Cadeau will be heading west for its next appearance.

And going western.

Le Cadeau Du Cheval – The Horse Gift will be on display at Cowboy Christmas in Las Vegas, Nevada this December.

Scheduled from December 4 – 13, 2008, Cowboy Christmas is the official gift show of the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo.

Cowboy Christmas is the longest running and ONLY ORIGINAL gift show of the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo. The Las Vegas Convention Center North Hall will be stuffed full of tack, equipment, clothing and all kinds of gift ideas for this ten-day show.

For anyone who loves to shop or loves the rodeo, it is the place to be in December

A massive collaborative mural combining 187 of some of the finest equine artists from around the world, Le Cadeau Du Cheval – The Horse Gift will add its own unique flare to this year’s Cowboy Christmas.

I was fortunate enough to have been able to participate in this unique, international event. The image you see with this blog is my 16″ x 16″ contribution, Windswept, an original oil painting on panel.

For those who enjoy seeing how paintings are made, the step-by-step painting process is now available on my web site. Due to time constraints on the creative portion of the project, I used a more direct painting technique on this painting, rather than the classical painting technique I prefer. I invite you to take a look.

If you are in town for the National Finals Rodeo in December, I also invite you to stop by and take a look at the original mural, as well.
