The Painting: I began layer on this last week. I saw flowers in pots and ladies dancing, but most of my buyers look for my equine art…so last night I began working to find the painted ponies… voila here they are. I truly enjoy the movement of colors in this new signature style and so far it has been exceedingly popular.

It will be at the show in April so if you are interested,… now is the time to contact Pam to purchase it so it is marked SOLD as the show opens! She does the absolute best custom framing in the southwest… and a Berle wood frame would look stunning on this painting.

‘Full Circle’ Mirada Gallery Colorado Colorful Equine Abstract Horse Oil Daily Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

‘FULL CIRCLE’
24 x 36″ Oil on Canvas

I am not on their website yet, but Mirada Fine Art of Colorado will be representing my work.
I am truly honored to be apart of this fabulous new gallery. Come spring, Terry and I will make a trip to visit and see my work hanging, and hopefully later this year you can visit me at a show of my work at Mirada Fine Art near Denver.  I also want to thank Kimberly Conrad for the fabulous referral to the Gallery.

Contact Steve at Mirada Fine Art, Colorado to purchase this painting.

The Painting: This was the piece I worked on during the documentary. As I finished it I knew it needed to be gallery bound, but did not realize I would be hearing from a wonderful gallery just outside of Denver.

Between the catch up days, I will do a few more pieces to send them and hope to visit there in the next few months.

The PaintingThis is another new piece in my Earth, Sea and Wind Gallery Series 2010. Using one of my signature styles on canvas, you have the blended underlays and overlays with runs and layering of Oil paints on top of those layers.  Tender emotions and solid play of colors create an world of intimacy.

The Circle of Intimacy

(“in to me see”)
We individually seek acceptance

Longing for moments filled with expressions of love and tenderness.

This is a special time for closeness and life sharing,

Yet we all realize the closer we become

The more vulnerable we become

With a greater risk of exposure and pain.

Our souls take to life in a dance

Connected through the threads of time

Intricately weaving the beautiful colors of each of our souls

In gentle movements

To implicate a union of harmonious spirits.

A circle of friends

To share this journey

Is a great gift of intimacy.

Growing old and walking side by side

Facing the world together

We are stronger.

We have each other

And are never alone against the wall

Waiting for someone to ask us to dance.

The Painting: Mountain Pony named for the deep caramel browns washing through the background and the horse. Holbein Duo Oils are so buttery that painting is a joy. Added colors of Indian Yellow, Cream, Madder and touches of blues, which are hard to see in this photo… finish it off as a thickly painted oil with ridges of dimension and color.

The Painting: In the beginning there was color… and I began many years ago with impressionism edging on realism. This was painted with only five colors on my palette and I was amazed by the poetry that emerged as it came together. I just finished it last night. Holbein Duo Oils on Linen Canvas. The Painting: This one has 15 layers of paint… no joke on that one. To get the continued softer translucent affect it required more than the normal… and it is mystifying in person when you look at it. I am not sure the camera was able to capture the thickness or the light weaving through out the composition. Holbein Duo Oils of course on Canvas.

‘Mountain Pony’ Equine Horse Art Painting by Laurie Pace

‘Mountain Pony’
30 x 30 inches Acrylic on Canvas SOLD
Flashing back a few years to show what was compared to where I am in my work. I may entertain revisiting these palette colors. Contact me for commission work: Laurie

© Laurie Justus Pace  Graphics One Design 2007

The Painting:  Rough scrapes of color prepare the base of this painting. Overlays of acrylic then create the vision of the horse. This one was painted in 2007.  I may try to do one this week that retains this sense but in my current style. It is important that an artist explore and continue to learn and grow with in their journey.  It is also important to be original.  A sense of style is unique to each of us that paint, and often through either workshops or straight copy imitation, we see pieces of our own work showing up in the internet in the works of others.

The Painting: Playing off complimentary colors of blue and orange, the strength of this painting is remarkable in person. With my traditionally heavy oils without Impasto, the texture feel of the horse makes him come alive. www.lauriepace.blogspot.com www.thepaintedpony.net www.ellepace.com

‘Observing’ Horse Equine Art Oil Painting by Laurie Pace

‘Observing’
30 x 30 inches Oil on Canvas
Contact me to purchase: Laurie

The Painting: This was a rough ride of not doing what I wanted the painting to do. Two full scrapings and I finally let the spirit find it’s way through and this is what resulted. This is a strong painting and the images are literally carved into the oils.

The Thought: There was a great thought here and it disappeared…how I do not know and time I am short of time today to rewrite an hour’s worth of work! I do not want to try and recreate it in short order, so I simply leave you with a prayer for grace today. Love like you have never loved before. Take in sights you have missed everyday and give thanks to Him who created it all. Be blessed to be a blessing.

Laurie “Everything is for your sake, so that grace … may increase thanksgiving, to the glory of God.“–2 Corinthians 4:15

The Painting: The musing of color so small is a switch for me. Doing this small paintings truly enable me to see what is possible for the larger pieces. If I were working large I would not have patterned colors quite like they are here. The next step is to paint large and see what happens.
