Untitled – stage 1
I started on my latest acrylic painting this morning.. as yet the piece is untitled… guessing a name will come to me as I progress through this one.
Im looking forward to the challenge of painting the both the little girls face and the roan coloured appy in acrylics… the size of this a painting is quite large for me 24″ x 30″ but a good size to hang on the wall.
Stage 1… I painted the background using a mix of blue and white not minding that in places the white hasnt quite mixed with the blue giving a speckled effect which I hope will create a little interest in the background.
next I drew in the horse and rider… blocked in the whites on the helmet, joddies and the direction the white hair will be going in on the horses head.

Moo R U
Moo R U is finally finished and what a lot of fun she was to paint … I’m all geared up to start on Two for Tea my next cow painting.

Moo R U – update
A little more work on Moo R U Ive been working on her nose working out what colours to use and getting the texture of the skin right… nothing like a challenge.
I so enjoy painting cows… who would have thought they could be so much fun… well me I guess as Ive now a few to my name.
Hopefully Moo R U will be finished next week…

Moo R U – stage 3
I apologise for the paleness of the image I photographed todays update in side the studio due to the weather…
Today I’ve spent redefining Moo’s eyes and working on her muzzle adding in the pinks and burnt brown tones that are present.. there is a long way to go until shes finished… next step will be to start to define the skin on her nose adding all those little dimples cows noses are known for,

Shah Sawaar
My tent pegger painting is now finished … and is titled Shah Sawaar which means great rider… I had so much fun painting this with the different colours in the horses coat it proved a nice challenge.

Wild Born
Wild Born is the second in my Brumby series… I liked the idea of creating something a little different from the usual wild horse paintings and couldnt resist the original photo my daughter Penelope took of Bill the brumby stallion.

The horse I learnt ride on when I was a child was a brumby that my grandfather caught in the mountains and trained from a wild mob on the far south coast of NSW Australia.. Whisky as he was called will always have a special place in my heart..
I have donated the following pieces to HVBR to raise money for the great work they do in saving and re-homing these Australian icons in the Hunter Valley of NSW.

Outback Spirit
I thought I would try something a little different from the usual pen and wash paintings that I create from time to time. Deciding to see what would happen if I added a multi coloured wash behind the images… very happy with the result and will definately be creating a few more of these.
