Ah. The last month of the year already. Where did all that time go?
I’m seeing Christmas decorations going up all over town, so I’m including a Christmas shot here, too.
Because most of the decorations I see are white lights (come on, People! Where’s your imagination!), I’m posting a colorful tree! Color is great!
In the Studio
December is going to be a combination of wrapping up existing projects and getting some new ones started. With possible travel plans and confirmed Christmas plans in the works throughout the month, I’m not sure what I’ll be able to do, but here’s my list.
- Finish the dead layer on Keyodee Star (portrait)
- Start the color layer on Keyodee Star
- Do the color layer on Lockkeeper (portrait)
- Complete the drawing for Clyde (portrait)
- Finish Morning Light, A Landscape
- Finish Belts & Buckles
The focus will be on the portraits, with the first week given to Keyodee Star. I can start color on Lockkeeper on December 10, so I want Keyodee Star drying by then.
The drawing can be fit in around those things and can even travel with me, so the paintings are priority.
On the Writing Desk
Last month was all about National Novel Writing Month.
This month is going to be all about pushing forward with the manuscript that was written in November. There is a lot to do.
- Print the manuscript for a read through later on
- Write character histories
- Write story background
- Update scene worksheet
- Read through December 14 or after
- Analyze plot and structure
That should get me to the end of the month. If it doesn’t, then rewriting can begin.
With one month left of the 2009 goal of writing 700 words a day of fiction remaining and with NaNoWriMo behind me with an average fiction word count of over 6,000, I considered dropping this goal for the month.
Then I changed my mind. There’s no sense in setting it aside now, with only a month remaining.
But I am going to drop back to the original goal of 700 words a day and see what happens. There’s no telling where those words will occur. I’ve been so focused on Saving Grace (the NaNo project) that those characters populate waking and sleeping thoughts. It may take a while to get reacquainted with some of the others!
