Well, that would be quite typical of me, actually, if it was ‘my’ party alone. And while I did attend a real live Canada Day Party this week (that would be me, the recluse) I’m having problems actually taking part in this month’s Virtual pARTy. This time around Kim and I discussed how to make it easier, so that we did leave ourselves with enough time to ‘play.’ I suggested a forum, where participants could upload their own photos, and then guests could come and visit to see the results. Ah, the best laid plans, as my old friend Robbie Burns would say.
We’ll see what the consensus is, whether or not everybody enjoyed the more interactive format of the forum, but on my end, it actually ended up being more work, as there have been a few bumps to work through. I do have until midnight tonight, however, so I haven’t given up hope! Kim has provided a lovely photo of a broodmare, and the work I’ve seen so far is great. I have a couple hundred bales of hay coming, stalls as always, and a bit of horse wrangling planned (haha) but hey, it’s not over till it’s over, right?
Things have settled down a bit on the horse front – my colic girl seems to be doing well, and the sick foal has bounced back. Next week we check the last of the mares to be bred and see if we can improve our statistics any. I still have it in my mind that I owe eight paintings to the June 30 Days project, so I’ll be trying to figure out how to work that in, when the next two months have a lot going on. There are a couple of exciting things in the works which I am waiting on being finalized…and of course the annual trek to Saratoga, come the end of this month. That just can’t get here fast enough, except that there’s so much that needs to be done an organized in the meantime!!
All right! Back to work, so that I can sustain that hope of joining in the pARTy before midnight. In the meantime, I hope you’ll visit the Virtual pARTy forum and see our wonderful entries (check out “pARTy Central”). If you’re still interested in taking part, you have till midnight tonight! To add your work or to just comment, you’ll have to register. Hope to see you over there!
