Tom’s Woods

This one is done pending some critiques by some friends or whomever. Woods are such busy places, it almost has to be painted loosely or one will get lost in the details and not see the forest for the trees. HAHAHAHA The dilemma is how loose. I will probably be painting more woods and landscapes and be better able to choose as I go on. I am happy with this one, however, the colors out there were so unexpected, even for a fall landscape. It was fun to put the pink foliage out there. I don’t know what they were but it was beautiful.

Very nice job, Judy! I think you’ve captured the woods very well.

This is lovely! My favorite thing about this painting is that I don’t notice the deer right away. I’m looking at the pink foliage, then out of the corner of my eye, I see the deer. That feels very real to me, like I’ve just walked into a clearing and haven’t noticed the deer standing statue-still right in front of me.
